Disclaimer, I am explaining how I cut my finger accidentally.
So yesterday did not go great. I planned on making a nice lunch for my inquiry which should have been green salad with apple, avocado toast, and then after completing the inquiry vegetarian portion, I was going to make almond-crusted chicken. As the chicken would need to go in the oven I began the prep for it first. I finely chopped already shelled almonds and added panko to the mixture, then I turned on a burner because I would be roasting them briefly before coating the chicken. I went to open my chicken and this is where disaster struck. I was not using literally any critical thinking skills and placed my fingers where I was slicing with the knife. Obviously as I tried to cut through the packaging I pulled and the tension made me lose control of the knife. It went across my finger and I realized and grabbed paper towel to apply pressure. I called for my husband who was down the hall and explained what happened. He, of course, wanted to help, but I just wanted my lunch to be finished cooking so I told him to work on that as a priority. He does and gets the chicken in the oven and I call my mom because moms know everything. I had no clue how deep it was and as we do no drive and she does, if it needed stitches I would rather not bus. My mom came and determined it did not need stitches. She applied the tape stitch things and a Band-Aid to hold it all together. It hurt the rest of the night and I am simply not using it when possible. Honestly this is just really inconvenient and I am hoping it heals quickly so I can get back to solo cooking, currently I am employing my husband to help, haha.
Unfortunately the vegetarian portion of this inquiry did not get finished. However, I believe it is critical to show both my successes and failures with this inquiry into cooking.
