This Free Inquiry has been amazing. I had a really hard time this semester for various reasons, but this project helped keep me sane. I originally thought of it as just “an easy A” as I had to cook regardless of the project. However, this wasn’t true as I was required to deepen my knowledge of cooking and force me to gain confidence, especially with problem-solving. I started out with my only vegetarian/vegan recipes being fake ground meat and fake meatballs + sauce. I am ecstatic to say I did not use the latter once during this whole thing! Both come in a package and are not really cost effective. I did use my fake meat a couple times, but what can I say? It is my favourite. I think I like it more than real ground meat to be honest. Throughout this inquiry, I struggled with creating actual vegan meals that did not use substitutions. While I may not have mastered that quite yet, I do feel confident in creating vegetarian dishes from scratch and just using things that I have in my fridge. I learned to be more bold with my flavours and not be afraid of seasoning! As someone who grew up with VERY British foods and flavours, this was a struggle, haha. Regardless, my husband and I explored and expanded our views and tastes to ultimately be more rounded individuals. From mishaps to almost hospital trips, cooking for this inquiry has been my favourite thing this semester. It takes time, but it was relaxing time where all I had to focus on was my music and not burning the food.
Speaking of burnt food, I finally retried cooking chicken this last week! I am so so so excited to say that both chickens cooked completely through and the dish was super yummy!

Even though it is not technically part of my inquiry, I’d love to share some other dishes I have made (with meat). If you’re just here for the vegetarian/vegan dishes, congrats! You’ve reached the end with me! I likely will continue posting my successes and mishaps here as it is an amazing outlet for me, however, inquiry-wise: this is my last post. I hope you have enjoyed and tried some out for yourself! If you ever need more in depth instructions for a particular recipe, comment and I’ll happily hand it over!! Without further ado, my meaty dishes from the last week!

For my last picture, there was also green beans, however my husband stole them all because he decidedly does not like yams.
There we have it! Sorry about the long post if you’ve made it this far! I loved this inquiry and felt I learned so much. I look forward to continue posting!
