Vegan Recipe Resources

For the past few hours I have been looking into the best places to find vegan recipes to make over the next few weeks. I particularly liked TikTok recipes as I could see them being made and much of the footage is relatively unedited compared to photos can be edited much easier. They also had to fit recipes into 3 minutes max, which was great for me as I have the attention span of a goldfish. Two particular creators I liked were FitGreenMind (https://www.tiktok.com/@fitgreenmind?_t=8WNcpkqHH09&_r=1) and TheEdgyVeg (https://www.tiktok.com/@theedgyveg?_t=8WNd61bG1Q5&_r=1).

FitGreenMind is a German creator that exclusively shares recipes of a wide variety, keeping it all vegan. Two of her playlists are 15 minute meals and vegan basics. I think her account is a great place to start as she breaks it down really easy. She explains all of her steps simply, without assuming viewers know all of the vegan terms. The ingredients FitGreenMind uses are all easy to find in grocery stores, no need for specialty items. She makes recipes from a variety of cultures as well. My only issue would be that she does not use many measurements on her TikTok, however she does share them all on her Instagram.

TheEdgyVeg states that she makes her recipes taste like the original. I think this is a great way to approach veganism as there are some really great ways to dupe meat and the taste of meat. She has many playlists, but two I think are interesting would be vegan dupes and accidentally vegan. Her vegan dupes playlist is all about creating those dupes for the non-vegan foods you love so that you do not need to actually give them up. TheEdgyVeg’s accidentally vegan playlists discusses all the grocery store foods you may not have known were vegan. Some notable ones are Ritz original crackers, Oreos, and Dempster’s Signature The Gold Bun. This playlist is super helpful to those starting to eat vegan as many times you would be searching the ingredient list of everything until you found preferences.

There are many more resources out there, but these are my favourite two based on content available and platform. Both creators are also on YouTube if TikTok is not your thing, and FitGreenMind is on Instagram with the same handle.

    Hey Shona,
It is so cool seeing you dive into vegan food! Edgy Veg has some great recipes, I am excited to see what you make! Another one that I really like is the blog “Oh She Glows”, she has some delicious and healthy recipes (I especially like her quinoa salads).
